SUMMARY:
The Assistant Registrar works directly with the Registrar to maintain official academic records for the Registrar’s Office at Cornerstone University. This person is responsible for planning, organizing and evaluating daily operations including registration, evaluating credits and degree completion while maintaining accuracy and data integrity to all student records. The Assistant Registrar must understand all academic policies and articulate information to internal and external audiences. The core of Cornerstone University is defined and driven by its Christ-centered mission and Biblical confession.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent Cornerstone University in a Christ-like, professional manner to many different internal and external constituencies, consistently exhibits enthusiasm toward the institution
- Assists with the overall process of registration
- Evaluates transfer credits of new and current students for transferability
- Process grade changes
- Assists with edits and revisions to the academic catalog which are published annually
- Creates course schedule records for each semester and accommodates classroom changes when needed
- Regularly manages the waitlist process
- Facilitates the collection of enrollment and degree data for submission to the National Student Clearinghouse and IPED’s
- Assists with the university census each semester
- Creates and maintains program evaluation information for all degree programs
- Regularly maintains Registrar manuals
- Assists with processing reports, as needed
- Serves as additional support to the Associate Registrar and Office Coordinator, as needed
- All Cornerstone University and WCSG employees will regularly interact with students in a variety of projects, activities, and settings. As such all employees are expected to serve as Christian leaders and mentors by effectively living a gospel-centered lifestyle, ministering and discipling through a biblical worldview.
- Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a university registrar or advising office preferred
- 3 -5 years of database input, reporting, and data analysis preferred (i.e.: Ellucian Colleague, Slate, Moodle) with a high-level ability to learn new technology software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to deal with high volumes of work during peak periods
- Protect the privacy of student records through adherence to FERPA regulations
- Proven ability to develop cooperative working relationships with a wide array of faculty, students, alumni, and professional representing a diverse range of academic disciplines and backgrounds
