JOB TITLE: Second Shift Housekeeper
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Hourly
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director
LOCATION: Grand Rapids
SUMMARY:
This individual will provide indoor facilities cleaning and provide support to the overall mission of the department. The Housekeeper is responsible for customer satisfaction using the work order system as a guide for success, while working in a team environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
- Cleaning in order to maintain a level of campus cleanliness equal to an APPA Custodial Service Level 2.
- Working with students and staff to enhance the student leadership model.
- Manages materials for housekeeping and stocks housekeeping closets.
- Participate in the Facilities emergency on-call rotation.
- Meets with the Assistant Director to coordinate daily activities, events and schedules for the housekeeping staff.
- Observes and inspects work while in progress ensuring all work has been completed.
- Uses power equipment, vehicles and cleaning machines, maintenance tools etc. to accomplish work assigned.
- Work weekends when necessary to help cover school events.
- Consistently looks for ways to improve cleaning procedures.
- Consistently strives to improve customer service and build relationships with other departments.
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the Assistant Director
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Housekeeping experience in a collegiate or hospitality setting is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the housekeeping function.
- Working knowledge of MIOSHA and other safety procedures.
- Ability to use tools, machines, equipment, and the materials for housekeeping.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work responsibilities.
- Ability to read and interpret cleaning products specifications.
- Ability to promote and work in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment.
- A theology and Christian worldview that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University evidenced by an ability to affirm and exemplify the university’s doctrinal statement, “The Cornerstone Confession.”
- Enthusiastic embrace of the Cornerstone University Identity, Mission and Vision statements.
