Cornerstone University is seeking a full time, 9-month teaching faculty with faculty rank in Psychology/Counseling beginning Fall 2024. We are a theologically conservative Christian University located in Grand Rapids, MI. Candidates can look forward to teaching advanced courses in the major, including Counseling Theories and preferably graduate-level counseling courses. Experience related to clinical practice or counseling is desirable. Successful candidates will give evidence of scholarly potential and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Other responsibilities include scholarly engagement in the candidate’s specialization area, academic advising, assessment of student learning, student recruitment and other departmental duties as assigned.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the faculty are teaching, spiritual modeling and mentoring, scholarship, and involvement in and service to Cornerstone and the general community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Cornerstone‘s psychology program provides a Christ-focused education that is dedicated to smaller class sizes and one on one training of students. Our faculty enjoy working together to mentor and teach our eager students the complexities of human thinking and connection with a Christian Worldview.

A successful candidate will possess a relevant advanced degree, with a Ph.D. preferred. However, if you have a master's in psychology or counseling, several years of work-related experience, and a desire to pursue your terminal degree, please apply for further discussion.

Physical requirements include the ability to teach classes and labs on campus, use computers, operate lab equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
