DEPT: AV Event Support

SUMMARY: The Part-time Audio-Visual Production Technician will work closely with the Assistant Director of AV Production to facilitate all aspects of Live Event Audio/Visual Production at Cornerstone University. Together, the AV Production Team provides high quality services for several University event spaces with installed AV Systems including Christ Chapel, Gainey Conference Center, Matthews Performing Arts Center, Corum Student Center, Cornerstone Theological Seminary Chapel, and Gordon Recital Hall.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operation & Maintenance of Audio/Visual Equipment in campus event spaces.
  • Coordination of Audio/Visual Production for Music Department Recitals, Concerts, and Rehearsals in Matthews Performing Arts Center.
  • Works with Assistant Director of AV Production to manage regular weekly chapel gatherings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Mornings throughout the school year.
  • Assists with Equipment Maintenance & Upkeep during breaks in the school year.
  • Training, Mentoring, and Coordinating a team of student AV Technicians.
  • Assistance with a variety of University events which could include Touring Artist Shows, Conferences, Banquets, Commencements, Student Events, and Golden Eagle Visit Days.
  • Work in conjunction with the Assistant Director of AV Production to maintain adequate staffing for all University events.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Experience & Familiarity with Live Event AV Production Coordination Required.
  • Knowledge of and comfort with the operation & maintenance of Audio/Visual production equipment including Digital Audio Consoles, In-Ear Monitoring, LED Production Lighting Systems, Video Projection Systems, and Video Livestreaming.
  • Experience with Lighting Design preferred.
  • Ability to creatively & proactively solve problems, handling complex situations when they arise with maturity & professionalism.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with non-regular hours including evenings & weekends.
  • Some Physical Labor will be required – must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Comfortable working safely on arial equipment including ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.

SALARY AND START DATE:

Salary: $20/hour, 20 hours/week. The position includes some paid time off and eligibility for the university retirement plan.
