The Career Services and Employer Relations Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative and communications support to the area of Career and Life Calling as well championing employer relations. This includes strategic communications to internal and external parties as the primary career services contact. They will be responsible for coordinating on campus employer visits, initial internship communications, Handshake job posting inquiries, communicating with Cornerstone University’s marketing team, data collection, and sharing employment opportunities with students. This role will also assist with career service appointments, classroom presentations, events, and panels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain data files and reports for Career and Life Calling
  • Manage the career readiness pathway
  • Manage Handshake (job posting site), employer inquiries, and coordinate employer on site visits
  • Maintain the careers email
  • Assist, as needed, academics when needed with reviewing and approving internship experience submissions
  • Assist with the collection and cleaning of the First Destination Survey raw data
  • Assist Assistant Director of Career & Life Calling with various forms of communication to constituent groups, including communication via the webpage and MyCU
  • Assist with Career and Life Calling events
  • Disseminate information to the campus community regarding careers, internships, and graduate school opportunities.
  • Provide individual and group assistance to students seeking internship and employment opportunities.
  • Assist with LifePath Peer advisor development, working closely with the Marketing LifePath Peer Advisor
  • Conduct presentations as needed with undergraduate students in vocational exploration and development through 1:1 and group/classroom interactions (such as self-assessments, workshops, resume preparation, and career coaching)
  • Connect with current and potential employers, including alumni, to improve and increase employer relationships with Cornerstone and its various schools, acting as the primary employer relations liaison for Cornerstone schools.

    • management of on-campus recruiting initiatives
    • collaborate with deans and professors to increase in-school and in-class employer engagement
    • Strategically identify and build relationships with regional, state, national, and international employers for recruitment of university students and alumni.
    • Work with employers to develop marketing strategies for enhancement of employer presence on campus
    • Other duties as assigned in support of the Career and Life Calling team

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in related field preferred (Higher Education, Student Affairs, Nonprofit Administration, Human Services, Communication, Education, Social Work, Counseling, etc)
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication ability to develop and maintain organizational partnerships and to supervise student employees
  • Intrinsically motivated professional with a calling to serve as a Christ-centered educational administrator
  • Self-starter with proven ability to connect with the Z generation and effectively contribute to their learning
  • Experience with cross functional teams and ability to contribute to strategic plans for achievement of desired outcomes

SALARY AND START DATE:

Salary: $18/hour. The position includes some paid time off and eligibility for the university retirement plan.
