Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, invites applications for part-time, clinical, adjunct nursing faculty positions in our Nursing Department in the School of Health, Science, and Technology. The positions include teaching responsibilities within a variety of clinical settings at the undergraduate level. Candidates should be able to assist in the development and implementation of clinical nursing education including appropriate management, instruction of students, and debrief in the clinical setting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate student learning and build an intentional learning community in which students are encouraged to express their ideas.
  • Adhere to applicable academic and classroom policies as stated
  • Represent Cornerstone University in a Christ-like, professional manner to many different internal and external constituencies, consistently exhibits enthusiasm toward the institution

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with at least 2 years of current clinical experience.
  • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
  • A current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Michigan.
  • Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups.
  • Previous teaching and/or mentoring experience preferred.
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment.
  • A theology that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University evidenced by an ability to affirm and sign the university’s doctrinal statement, “The Cornerstone Confession.”
  • Enthusiastic embrace of the Cornerstone University Identity, Mission and Vision statements.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to navigate our physical campus and the clinical setting and expectations, use of computers and other related technology, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.

 

EXPECTATIONS

  • Completion of Cornerstone faculty orientation and basic Christian worldview training
  • Staying current in his/her field through reading, research, writing, professional or continuing education, and other professional or scholarly endeavors.

 

SALARY AND START DATE

  • Salary: The actual salary will be commensurate with professional credentials, education and experience.
  • Start Date: A start date for one of our upcoming semesters will be determined through the interview process with each candidate.
