REPORTS TO: Men’s Head Soccer Coach and Athletic Director

DEPARTMENT: Athletics

LOCATION: Bernice Hansen Athletic Center | Athletic Fields, Grand Rapids, MI

SUMMARY: The individual in this position is responsible for assisting with the Cornerstone University Men’s Soccer program, including but not limited to coaching team members, organizing, recruiting, scheduling, training, monitoring academic progress, promotions, and fundraising.

COMPENSATION: Full tuition benefits, not including fees and books, subject to financial aid guidelines. General stipend offered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with some aspects of the coaching and management of the men’s soccer program
  • Oversee and supervise game day related duties
  • Organize the recruiting database in accordance with the NAIA, WHAC and Cornerstone University policies and procedures
  • Train and coach members of the men’s soccer program
  • Support the uniform and equipment maintenance needs of the Men's Soccer program
  • Aid with academic oversight and support of men’s soccer student-athletes
  • Be visible and a fully integrated member of the Cornerstone University community
  • Assist in coordinating and executing camps, clinics, and service projects
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations of the NAIA as it relates to the soccer program
  • Represent Cornerstone University and the men’s soccer program in a professional manner
  • Support the NAIA Champions of Character Program
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • 18 hours/week maximum, up to 936 hours/year maximum

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in sports management, communication, or similar field
  • Acceptance into a Cornerstone University Master’s Degree program
  • Prior experience as a collegiate soccer player or previous coaching experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and recreation management software
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Willingness and ability to work cooperatively with student employees, coaches, and athletic personnel
  • Ability to move and lift athletic equipment required for various event setup needs
  • Must be able to walk and be on feet frequently
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
