Cornerstone University invites applications for a tenure-track position in chemistry. The position is at the assistant/associate level and will begin January 2025. Salary commensurate with education and experience. A full benefit package including health insurances, disability, and a retirement plan is included.

Annual Salary: $50,000 - $62,000/year, 9-month position. The actual salary will be commensurate with candidate credentials and experience. A full benefit package including health plans, disability coverage, 100% tuition remission for employees and their dependent children, and a 403(b)-retirement plan is included.
Requirements and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will possess a relevant PhD in chemistry, give evidence of scholarly potential, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Candidates with a Masters (MS) in chemistry with relevant teaching experience are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should be able to teach general chemistry as well as upper-level courses including organic chemistry and biochemistry. · The successful candidate will teach 24 credits (lecture and lab) per academic year.

Experience with basic laboratory equipment and ability to prepare for student lab experiments is required.

Experience with more advanced instrumentation including HPLC, GC-Mass spectrometers, and IR and NMR spectrometers is desirable. This would include experience with sample preparation, data collection and analysis, as well as routine maintenance of these instruments
Other responsibilities include scholarly engagement in the candidate’s specialization area with students, serve on university committees as required, and other departmental duties as assigned.
