Cornerstone University is seeking an adjunct instructor to facilitate courses such as our Principles of General Chemistry course for the 2025 Spring semester. Courses may be during the day, or offered in the evening, and we are open to learning about your availability and preferences.
Courses may include but are not limited to: CHM-111 Principles of General Chemistry
- CHM-111 investigates properties of substances and the changes they can undergo.
- Special emphasis on laws of chemical combination, theories of atomic structure, periodic trends, kinetic theory, and chemical and physical equilibria as well as activities to communicate the centrality of chemistry to historical development, modern civilization, and life itself.
- Explores proper biblical stewardship in chemical manufacturing, disposal, and use.
Requirements:
- A master’s degree along with relevant teaching and work experience. A PhD is a plus.

Candidates should be able to teach general chemistry. Candidates with the credentials and experience to also teach upper-level courses including organic chemistry and biochemistry are preferred. ·

Experience with basic laboratory equipment and ability to prepare for student lab experiments is required.

Experience with more advanced instrumentation including HPLC, GC-Mass spectrometers, and IR and NMR spectrometers is desirable. This would include experience with sample preparation, data collection and analysis, as well as routine maintenance of these instruments.
- Each candidate must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, be active in a local church and espouse a theology that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University as evidenced by fully affirming the university’s doctrinal statement, “The Cornerstone Confession”.
