SUMMARY
The Server Engineer ensures the reliability, security, and performance of Cornerstone University’s IT infrastructure, enabling the institution to fulfill its mission. This role manages and optimizes core systems, including servers, storage platforms, directory services, and network security. In addition to maintaining existing infrastructure, the Server Engineer contributes to the design and implementation of new or upgraded systems, driving continuous improvement and innovation in technology services.

REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Network Operations & Technology Support
DEPT: Network Operations
LOCATION: Bolthouse Hall
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties include:

Plan, implement, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based server and storage systems, including Microsoft Azure, ensuring seamless integration with Directory Services and key enterprise applications.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate escalated issues impacting server, storage, and Directory Services operations, with a focus on minimizing downtime and security risks.

Serve as a primary liaison with vendors and external service providers for server, storage, and Directory Services, ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.

Document system designs, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps, maintaining accurate and secure records for compliance and continuity.

Apply security best practices across all server and storage platforms, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and access controls.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Microsoft AZ104, AZ800/801, SC300, AZ500, Network +, Security + are a plus.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure all assigned responsibilities are completed

Candidate must be willing to have a start date of June 1, 2026.
